Lv 1–99 Progression
Summary
An introduction to basic controls and explanations of unlocked features.
You gain 1 Skill Point each time your Lv increases. Jobs and Buddies are unlocked at the corresponding tiles in the Skill Tree. Reforge, Limit Break, Fusion, and Runes require clearing specific Stages; they are not unlocked by Lv alone. You can check the specific requirements in the Public Help and in the in-game display.
For instructions on how to play, see Getting Started. For questions about what you see on screen, see Beginner Q&A.
From players: Starting Equipment and Jobs
In response to a new player's question about finding powerful Equipment that did not suit their current Job, one answer was to use the strongest Equipment they had and keep progressing, then settle on a Job direction once they had more options. This is not an official recommendation to choose a particular Job from the start.
From players: Choosing Where to Run
In response to the question, “the latest Stage or a higher difficulty in the previous one?”, answers included choosing based on where the desired Equipment drops and separating goals for EXP and Equipment farming. Since the poster's Lv is unknown, this should not be treated as the optimal answer for this Lv range alone.
For Equipment's published stats and sources, see Equipment List. For how builds work and player advice, see Equipment Combinations and Build Basics. To check the game mechanics when you can't win, see How to Progress and Guides by Lv Range.
In response to a new player's question, one answer was to gain Lv through Runs, try out Jobs and Skills with Equipment they picked up, and keep progressing. Another piece of advice was to regularly check how far you can progress and the EXP efficiency, rather than spending a long time repeatedly running only early areas. This is not a recommendation to skip checking Equipment just because of your Lv.
In response to a new player's uncertainty about where to run, one answer was to progress through Stages as far as possible, upgrade to Equipment they picked up, and spend Skill Points along the way. Advice on prerequisites for a target Job included both taking the required ranks first to change Jobs early and taking time to develop the prerequisite Jobs as well.
In response to an early-game question, one answer was that low-Rarity Equipment from a new Stage can sometimes be stronger than waiting for a Legendary weapon in a previous Stage, so compare the stats of items you pick up as you progress. Another player shared that they progressed by starting as a Heavy Knight to improve their durability. This is not advice that any particular Job or Rarity is required.
