Set Skill
Learn Skills, Then Set Them to Use Them
After learning a Skill from the tree, open “Set” at the top right of the Skill screen. Only Skills placed in the 3 slots take effect.
Set Skills have no effect when merely learned. You can change slots for free at any time.
Stat nodes that raise HP, Physical ATK, and similar stats work differently. Their effects apply as soon as you learn them and use no Set Skill slot. Check each node's description for Job and Equipment requirements.
There are 3 types
Stance: Changes your entire combat style. You can set only 1.
Passive: Activates automatically through attacks or the passage of time.
Burst: A move used when the Skill Gauge fills.
How to Use Burst
The Skill Gauge fills every 1 second by 20% in battle (unaffected by Speed; gains from Gear and other effects are separate). It carries over between Floors and can hold up to 5000%. Each set of 1 moves costs 100%.
Moves whose conditions are met activate with priority given to higher slots. After every 1 moves, conditions are checked again from the top using the current gauge and status, and another valid move activates (up to 1 time from the same slot). Enable “Use from top to bottom” in Set to use the move in the next slot every 100%.
A move activates as soon as its gauge condition is met, even while the gauge is filling. If a lower slot requires “Gauge 100% or higher,” that move activates whenever the gauge reaches 100%, so it will not build up to 300%.
Example for using 3 moves in a row: set “Enemy is a boss” as the condition for all 3. The gauge will build on the Floors before the boss, then if it is at least 300% on the boss Floor, all 3 moves activate from the top.
Each move can have up to 3 conditions (Gauge at least ◯%, Enemy is a boss, Not the last move used, and so on).
Bursts do not count as normal attacks. Effects from Equipment, Pets, or Skills that trigger “on normal attack” do not activate (Critical rate and Critical damage still apply). Effects that trigger “whenever attacked” do activate when hit by an enemy Burst.
